Sustainability at Suba Hotels

At Suba Hotels, sustainability is not an add-on—it is a conscious way of operating across every brand and every stay. From design and construction to daily operations and guest engagement, we focus on responsible practices that reduce environmental impact, support communities, and enhance long-term value for our guests, employees, and stakeholders.

Our approach is practical, measurable, and deeply integrated into how our hotels function every day.

Our Sustainable Approach

Across all Suba Hotels brands—Suba, Click, GenX, Comfort, Quality, and Clarion—we actively work to reduce energy consumption while maintaining guest comfort.

Our initiatives include:
  • Installation of energy-efficient appliances, smart thermostats, and LED lighting across properties
  • Utilisation of renewable energy sources such as solar panels, wherever feasible

These measures help optimise energy use and reduce overall consumption without compromising the guest experience.

Water efficiency is planned right from the project stage and carried through daily operations.

Our practices include:
  • Use of low-flow showerheads, faucets, and toilets from the construction phase
  • Linen and towel reuse programs, with clear messaging placed in guest rooms and bathrooms
  • Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) across hotels, enabling treated water usage for irrigation and gardening

Through these steps, we ensure responsible water usage while maintaining hygiene and comfort standards.

Reducing waste and eliminating unnecessary plastics are core priorities across Suba Hotels.

Key initiatives include:
  • Supplying RO water in reusable glass bottles in guest rooms and restaurants to eliminate plastic bottles
  • Complete removal of single-use plastic toiletries and straws, replaced with refillable dispensers
  • Use of dispensers that are animal-testing free, paraben-free, and designed for sustainable utilisation
  • Reduction of food waste through better inventory planning and food donation programs

These practices significantly lower landfill contribution and reduce our overall carbon footprint.

We focus on responsible sourcing to support sustainability across food, amenities, and hotel operations.

Our approach includes:
  • Prioritising local, seasonal, and organic food for hotel restaurants
  • Choosing eco-friendly cleaning supplies and guest amenities
  • Sourcing furniture and linens from recycled or sustainable materials, wherever possible

This ensures a more responsible supply chain while supporting local economies.

Sustainability works best when everyone participates—guests and teams alike.

What we do:
  • Actively educate guests on eco-friendly practices, such as towel reuse and mindful resource usage
  • Install sustainability-focused branding and signage across guest rooms, bathrooms, restaurants, banquets, public areas, and staff zones
  • Encourage both guests and staff to use hotel facilities responsibly and mindfully

This consistent communication helps build awareness and shared responsibility.

Supporting cleaner mobility is an important part of our sustainability journey.

Our initiatives include:
  • EV charging stations at 99% of Suba Hotels
  • Strong advocacy for electric vehicles
  • Guest-use vehicles owned by Suba Hotels are electric or CNG-powered

These steps promote cleaner travel options and reduce emissions associated with guest transportation.

Operational sustainability is built into everyday hotel functions.

Our practices include:
  • Use of green cleaning products and environmentally responsible cleaning practices
  • Moving paperless wherever possible, including digital check-ins and digital billing
  • Designing and renovating hotels with green architecture principles in mind
Benefits of Our Sustainability Efforts

Our sustainable practices create value across multiple dimensions:
